« The professors offered us some great ideas about how to apply the theoretical knowledge to the real business »
I really appreciated my study in the MFE program. The courses we had covered different aspects of economics, finance and strategy. All of the professors master the knowledge of their domains and most of them have insights about the industry itself. They have offered us some great ideas about how to apply the theoretical knowledge to the real business. Meanwhile, we had case studies and workshops regularly, offering us practices about job hunting, information gathering and problems solving.
I also highly appreciated that we had some conferences presented by some very authorized people from Government, Banking sector and Consulting Firms, through which we had a deep look into the world economy and got strategic approach to financial market.
For me, the most impressive one was the conference presented by Patrick ARTUS, Global chief economist of NATIXIS, about the consequences of the heterogeneity of the Euro Zone. He brought us some insights about what is going on within the Euro Zone and how to deal with overall debt overhang problem in Europe. I appreciate these kinds of opportunities to get exposure to world economy since it is the knowledge we can rarely get from somewhere else.
Besides, we have a very good balance of work and life. All of us enjoyed a lot studying and also having fun together.
It has been 1 year since I started my first job as a Business Analyst at Amadeus IT Group.
I found this opportunity to work for my current company during a career fair organized on HEC Paris Campus. I believe that the great reputation of HEC helps us to get access to great career opportunities.
On a day to day basis, I still benefit from the knowledge, the business manner and more particularly the experience I have gained in HEC. For example, during my study in the MFE program, we have learned how to build and analyze business cases, from which I could apply the methodology for corporate projects in my job.
I always believe that HEC has offered me the best resource and experience that I could ever get from a business school.
Before coming to HEC, I studied in Tsinghua University as an undergraduate, majoring in economics and finance. I also did an internship in Citigroup investment banking division in Hong Kong.
With a background in finance, I would also like to explore other business fields, and HEC’s Master in Management program offered me such an opportunity. Its highly internationalized community and leading position in European management studies attracted me the most.
The program is composed of one year’s general management courses (M1), a gap year for doing internships or other professional projects (optional), and one year’s specialization studies (M2). In M1, I was exposed to various subjects, including supply chain management, marketing, contract law, etc. I was encouraged by peers and helped by the HEC career services to look for new professional interests, which led me to locate an internship in data science for my gap year. (very different from what I did before!)
HEC has a strong entrepreneurial culture. Like its mottos says, “the more you know, the more you dare”, I met lots of interesting people here who are dreamers and doers at the same time. It is a place full of possibilities.
